Skiing in Saalbach, more accurately the Skicircus village, a famous traditional winter sports destination, offers endless ski and snowboard fun for its visitors. The lively village of Hinterglemm is located slightly higher up the mountain at the Glemmtal. Both villages are connected by the pistes as well as a ski bus service. The Skicircus offers a versatile ski area with a total of 270km of well-groomed slopes and no less than 70 cable cars and lifts; it’s one of the most varied ski areas in all of Austria.
You will find more than 50 restaurants when skiing in Saalbach, some of which are considered real local favourites. The cosy mountain huts also offer an excellent traditional culinary option. In these huts, while Glühwein is kept warm in a large pot on an open fire, you can sit back and try some traditional snacks.
Après-ski
Ski holidays in Saalbach are known for their long nights as well as their long skiing days. There are plenty of lively bars and night clubs where you can party until the early morning. If you are interested in more active après-ski, you can also head for the indoor swimming pool, the ice skating rink or the tennis and squash courts. And for those skiing in Saalbach who feel brave enough – you can even go paragliding over the Alps.
