Skiing in Val Cenis

Val Cenis is a moderately sized ski area in France with 125 kilometres of wide, rolling slopes. It is an ideal area for beginner and intermediate skiers. It is home to l’Escargot (‘the snail’), the longest green slope in Europe.

The lower slopes in Val Cenis are easy and mostly run through forest, creating beautiful scenery. Thanks to its mostly north-facing slopes, the area has good snow coverage, and you can ski there from December – April. Don’t miss the Arcelle ski touring route from l’Ouillon de la Tomba down to Lanslevillard. Freestylers can enjoy themselves at the Essarts snowpark, and there are also a number of beautiful off-piste trails in the village of Val Cenis.
