Val Cenis

Val Cenis is in a beautiful location between the Vanoise National Park in France and the Avigliana Regional Park in Italy. It is easily accessible, snow-sure, and when there is enough snow, you can even ski right up to the door of your accommodation. The area consists of several charming villages: Lanslebourg, Lanslevillard, Les Champs, and Termignon.

Lanslebourg is a small village with a few hotels, while Lanslevillard is known for its excellent restaurants, atmospheric bars, nightclub, and ice rink. For relaxation, there is also a swimming pool, sauna, and a public thermal bath in the village. Termignon is popular with nature lovers and those seeking some peace and quiet, but it is still only 10 minutes’ drive from the centre of Val Cenis. Les Champs is a charming and quiet part of Val Cenis, ideal for those who want to experience the culture of the region.

There are two sledge runs for children in the ski area and torch-lit hikes are organised weekly. The Val Cenis ski area is also an ideal destination for hikers, with approximately 29 kilometres of hiking trails and snowshoe hikes organised from the village.

Val Cenis

  • Located between National Park Vanoise & Park Avigliana

Map

Val Cenis

Val Cenis is a moderately sized ski area in France with 125 kilometres of wide, rolling slopes. It is an ideal area for beginner and intermediate skiers. It is home to l’Escargot (‘the snail’), the longest green slope in Europe.

The lower slopes in Val Cenis are easy and mostly run through forest, creating beautiful scenery. Thanks to its mostly north-facing slopes, the area has good snow coverage, and you can ski there from December – April. Don’t miss the Arcelle ski touring route from l’Ouillon de la Tomba down to Lanslevillard. Freestylers can enjoy themselves at the Essarts snowpark, and there are also a number of beautiful off-piste trails in Val Cenis.

Skiing in Val Cenis

Val Cenis is a great destination for all ages and skill levels. There are enough blue slopes there to keep beginners and families busy, but advanced skiers will also have plenty to enjoy. A Val Cenis ski pass will be included in your holiday package when you book with Sunweb, so you can explore to your heart’s content.
