Ski holidays in Avoriaz take place in “Les Portes du Soleil” ski region and consists of the two villages Avoriaz and Morzine. Skiing in Avoriaz offers 79km of slopes with options for ever level of skier and snowboarder, from beginner to advanced. For beginners on a ski holiday in Avoriaz there are plenty of gentle and easy-to-master slopes and for the dare devils, there is the famous Wall of Avoriaz, considered one of the most difficult pistes to ride in the area. For advanced skiers, skiing in Avoriaz might not be enough. You can always upgrade your lift pass to the bigger area of Les Portes du Soleil where you will have access to 650km of slopes. Due to the high altitude, a ski holiday in Avoriaz offers perfect snow conditions from December until April.

As a general rule, the shops are open on Monday/Friday from 09:00 to 19:00. However, some shops may close over lunchtime. On Sunday and Monday, a selection of shops are closed. Some supermarkets are open on Sunday mornings.

Travelling by car:
Most motorways in France require you to pay a toll fee. The Pas Piccolo San Bernardo is closed the whole winter (November - June). Always check the locat weather reports before departing.
In some cities and towns it is obligaroty to have a "environmentsl sticker". It is not possible to buy these stickers en route. You will have to order them online before you leave home. French authorities advise you to print out the form and the confirmation of the sticker if it does not arrive at your home in time. You can find the form on:

You will fly into Geneva Airport (GVA). Flight times can be seen during the booking process, based on your choice of regional airport.
Transfer
In the booking steps it is possible to book a transfer. If you book a transfer via Sunweb, it will be a shared transfer to and from the resort. The average transfer time to Avoriaz is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes. You are allowed to bring the following standard luggage: 1 bag/suitcase per person & 1 ski/snowboard bag per person. Ski passes for children up to and including 4 years old are free. If you are entitled to this free ski pass, choose 'no ski pass' when booking. You can pick up the free ski pass onsite by showing your proof of identity.
Any surcharges and discounts are only valid upon booking. Other rates are applied locally. It is not possible to redeem the ski pass on another day onsite.
