The apartments are stylishly designed making use of lots of wood and brick, giving Résidences Le Saskia Falaise a distinctive ambience that is felt throughout the residence. All of the apartments access to a balcony, so you can watch the sunset after a fantastic day out on the slopes. The ski lift which will take you to the various descents in a matter of minutes, is only a short ski away so you can be one of the first to enjoy the fresh snow each morning.
The lively centre of Avoriaz is only a short walk from Résidences Le Saskia Falaise, where you can enjoy the various shops and restaurants. There are also plenty of bars and nightclubs which stay open until the early morning so you can enjoy a beer or two with the other guests.

Avoriaz ski holidays are one of the most popular winter breaks in all of France. Due to its high altitude and car free village, skiing in Avoriaz offers mostly ski-in, ski-out accommodations throughout the winter. The architecture is beautiful with many buildings using a lot of wood to create a rustic, traditional alpine ambience. Although the village is car free, there are still plenty of ways to quickly get around, one of which being the charming horse sleighs dotted around the village.
Local transport is only included in the accommodations: Résidence Antarès, Résidence Atria and Résidence Electra. The shuttle bus runs daily from 08:00 - 19:00.
Avoriaz ski holidays are known for being a great for both beginners and young children. Skiing in Avoriaz offers around 77km of pistes, however with the full Les Portes du Soliel lift pass you have access to over 650km. Les Porte du Soleil is home to a number of other famous French resorts including Morzine, Châtel and Les Gets. With the full lift pass it is even possible to ski all the way to Switzerland!
Whilst remaining popular among families, skiing in Avoriaz also offers a fantastic après-ski scene. There are many renowned restaurants and lively bars including Shooters and The Place. Aside from skiing in Avoriaz, there are plenty of fun options to keep busy. Aquariaz is considered “a water paradise”, it has a number of pools, rapids, a rope swing and much more. There is also a cinema, a theatre and snow huskies within the region.

Ski holidays in Avoriaz take place in “Les Portes du Soleil” ski region and consists of the two villages Avoriaz and Morzine. Skiing in Avoriaz offers 79km of slopes with options for ever level of skier and snowboarder, from beginner to advanced. For beginners on a ski holiday in Avoriaz there are plenty of gentle and easy-to-master slopes and for the dare devils, there is the famous Wall of Avoriaz, considered one of the most difficult pistes to ride in the area. For advanced skiers, skiing in Avoriaz might not be enough. You can always upgrade your lift pass to the bigger area of Les Portes du Soleil where you will have access to 650km of slopes. Due to the high altitude, a ski holiday in Avoriaz offers perfect snow conditions from December until April.

Service charge (tip) in restaurants and bars :
It is not likely that the service charger will be added to the bill automatically. If you are pleased with the service you can round off or leave a tip of 10%.
The voltage is 220 and the socket is different compared to the general UK sockets. You can buy an European adapter in most airports and supermarkets.
A UK mobile phone should work in France. The setup for this may differ per provider, so it is best to inquire about this before hand.
Safety on the slopes:
In France, wearing a helmet is not mandatory but recommended (especially for children). In ski classes (for all ages), it is often compulsory.
You must be in possession of a valid passport in order to travel to France.
Food and Drinks:
Cheese, croissants, baguettes and wine! It is possible to drink tap water.
As a general rule, the shops are open on Monday/Friday from 09:00 to 19:00. However, some shops may close over lunchtime. On Sunday and Monday, a selection of shops are closed. Some supermarkets are open on Sunday mornings.

Travelling by car:
Most motorways in France require you to pay a toll fee. The Pas Piccolo San Bernardo is closed the whole winter (November - June). Always check the locat weather reports before departing.
In some cities and towns it is obligaroty to have a "environmentsl sticker". It is not possible to buy these stickers en route. You will have to order them online before you leave home. French authorities advise you to print out the form and the confirmation of the sticker if it does not arrive at your home in time. You can find the form on:
You fly with easyJet or Jet2 to Geneva. This flight takes approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. Meals and drinks are not included during the flight.
Departures from regional airports
Please note that with departure and/or arrival from a regional airport you may have a stopover on the outward and/or return journey.
In the booking steps it is possible to book a transfer. The average transfer time to Avoriaz is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes. You are allowed to bring the following standard luggage: 1 bag/suitcase per person & 1 ski/snowboard bag per person. Other extra luggage is always on request. In step 1 of the booking process it is indicated for which days the lift pass is valid (eg Sunday to Friday). If you would like the lift pass to start on a different day than indicated in the booking steps, you must contact our contact centre by telephone. The booking can then be adjusted. On-site it is not possible to change the lift pass for another day. An extension of the lift pass can often be booked additionally; the price for this can be found in the further course of the booking steps. The discount for “no lift pass” can also be found in the booking process.
PLEASE NOTE: It is not possible to upgrade the lift pass in resort.
The lift pass for children up to 4 years is free. The Avoriaz lift pass for seniors from 75 years is also free. If you are entitled to this free lift pass, select 'no lift pass' when booking. The free lift pass can be picked up locally on presentation of your ID.
The above fees and discounts are valid when booking through. Other rates are used at the resort.
If you want to book lessons, you can reserve them when making your booking. When you book your lessons, you should give an indication of your level, this way the ski school can put you in the correct classes.
If you have booked a short-stay, it is not possible to book lessons through us. You can organise this at the destination.
- The ski and snowboard lessons start on Sunday.

Beginners: Choose only for beginners lessons if you've never skied.
Average: Can you brake / make a curve? Opt for average and not for beginners.
Advanced: Can you ski, but you want to develop your technique? Opt for advanced.
- If you are in beginner classes the Avoriaz lift pass is sufficient to follow the lessons.
Book your intermediate or advanced classes than a full Portes du Soleil lift pass required to attend classes.
Ski and snowboard hire can be added in step 2 of the booking.
When booking Gold or Diamond ski equipment, you can exchange it once for snowboard or free ride skis. (not applicable in the weekends)
