A Zell am See ski holiday has lots to offer. The ski lifts depart directly from the centre of the town, there are 58km of trails in the valley perfect for cross-country skiing and there are loads of hiking routes that pass through the valley and over the pistes. For those who wish to have a day away from the slopes, you can go shopping in the car-free shopping streets, there are a number of terraces which have a fantastic view of the lake and on the top of Schmitten, you can enjoy a drink in one of the cosy mountain huts.

Schüttdorf

The neighbourhood of Schüttdorf is located around 2km from the old city centre in Zell am See. Schüttdorf is well-known for its lively après-ski options, adding even more fun to a Zell am See ski holiday. You can reach the Schmittenhöhe with one of the three gondolas from Zell am See, or the Areit gondola from Schüttdorf. Travelling by car:

Snow chains are obligatory in the Alps. You need a toll permit for the motorways in Austria. You can buy the permit at the AA in the UK or in Austria at the major border crossings. The European Commission advises you to wear a safety reflector jacket in the event of a break down or accident. This vest can be purchased from the AA in the UK as well.

Voltage:

The voltage is 230 volt.

Mobile telephone:

UK mobile phones work in Austria as well.

Travel documents:

You need to be in the possession of a valid passport to travel to Austria.

Discounts

Children born on or after 1/1/2016 are entitled to a free lift pass. Children born between 01-01-2003 and 31-12-2015 will get a discount on their lift pass. These discounts can be found in the calculation of your fare, in step 3 of the booking process.

The discounts mentioned above are only valid when booking through Sunweb. At the destinations other rates may apply.

You pay a deposit during the booking process which you will be reimbursed once you hand your lift pass back.

If you want to book lessons, you can reserve them when making your booking. When you book your lessons, you should give an indication of your level, this way the ski school can put you in the correct classes. 

Please note: If you have booked a short-stay, then it is not possible to book lessons through us. You can arrange this at the destination.

It is not possible to book 2 hour ski lessons for beginners.

Ski and snow board lessons start on Sunday and take place in the morning and afternoon.

When booking ski lessons, you will be asked to specify your level of experience:

Beginners:

Only choose beginners lessons if you have never skied before.

Intermediate:

If you are able to break and make turns, choose this level.

Advanced:

If you are able to ski but you would like to improve your technique, please choose this level.

You can specify that you would like to include ski hire directly when booking.
