Zell am See

In Zell am See in Austria, you will experience a ski trip as its meant to be. Zell am See is located in the heart of the Zell am See-Kaprun region, which also includes Kaprun, Bruck, and Maishofen. This region is known as one of the most beautiful ski areas in Austria. Zell am See village is situated right in front of the Schmittenhöhe mountain, offering 138 kilometres of slopes at an altitude of over 3,000 metres. That means you will be assured of snow during your trip regardless of the snow forecast, with a very long ski season to enjoy. Thanks to its connection to the Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn Skicircus, you’ll never run out of slopes to enjoy using the Ski Alpin Card. This ski pass will be included in your Sunweb holiday package to Zell am See!

Ideal weather in Zell am See

A big plus of Zell am See is its weather. Count on lots of sunshine and a thick layer of snow during the ski season, especially since you can go glacier skiing in Kaprun. With Lake Zell in the distance and the snow-covered slopes and conifers in the background, the views whilst skiing there are phenomenal. There is also plenty to do in the village itself. How about a visit to the TAUERN SPA Zell am See-Kaprun? Take a dip in one of the refreshing swimming pools or unwind in one of the many saunas, herbal baths, or steam baths. If you still have some energy left to burn, enjoy a workout at the fitness centre before indulging in a delicious meal and a drink at the bistro there. Children can enjoy themselves for hours at the water park, which features several fun waterslides. If you’re more interested in traditional après-ski drinks, Zell am See has many lively and atmospheric bars and cafés to enjoy.

Zell am See - Kaprun

Zell am See - Kaprun is one of the most beautiful ski areas in Austria, offering over 140 kilometres of slopes that reach up to 3029 metres altitude. The area connects the popular ski resorts of Zell am See, Kaprun, Bruck, Piesendorf, and Maishofen. With the ZellamseeXpress, you can even expand your ski holiday into Viehhofen, giving you even more slopes to explore.

Skiing in Zell am See - Kaprun

The Zell am See - Kaprun ski area is situated like an amphitheatre around both villages. With its high-altitude slopes, glacier skiing, and efficient snow cannon system, it offers guaranteed snow. You can take the Gletscherjet I and II cable cars up to the impressive Kitzsteinhorn glacier in no time at all. The slopes there are mostly blue runs, ideal for beginner and intermediate skiers. The Kitzsteinhorn ski area opens early in the season, so you can enjoy its famous glacier slopes and snowboarding parks from autumn until spring.

The Maiskogel is an excellent place to ski for families and beginners, thanks to its gentle slopes. It features a free admission beginners’ area, The Maisi Line, where both children and adults can practice their freestyle tricks in a safe environment.

For a diverse ski area that offers both thrills and family fun, the Schmittenhöhe is ideal. Schmidolin the Dragon is ready to help kids master their skiing skills at the Drachenpark, whilst the more experienced adults can challenge themselves on the Trass black run. The views from Schmittenhöhe’s slopes are particularly breathtaking, as they overlook the impressive Lake Zell.

Endless slopes to explore

With the arrival of the ZellamseeXpress, which connects the Zell am See - Kaprun ski area with Viehhofen, a new larger ski area has been created: Ski Alpin. If you book a Sunweb ski holiday package, your ski lift pass will always be included. By choosing one of the destinations we offer in Zell am See – Kaprun, you can explore three ski regions with just the pass included in your package. This Ski Alpin Card will grant you access to the Kitzsteinhorn, the Schmittenhöhe, and Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn. That means you’ll have 408 kilometres of slopes to enjoy using just one card! With its ideal location close to other ski areas, Zell am See – Kaprun is perfect for a holiday packed with adventure and variety.
