Galtür

Galtür is at an altitude of 1,584 metres, making it one of the highest ski villages in Austria and the highest in the Silvretta region. Due to its altitude, Galtür is very snow-sure. This small, picturesque village was built in a traditional Tyrolean style, and it is more than 600 years old. Despite its age, Galtür has plenty of modern and conveniently located accommodation to offer. It also has many child-friendly facilities and is therefore very popular with families. At Siggi's Bambini-Land, kids can take ski school lessons from 3 years old and practice to their heart's content in the practice area that’s exclusively for children.

Things to do in Galtür

Galtür is a winter paradise for all ages. And not just for skiers! You can also go snowboarding, ice skating, and snowshoeing. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even try paragliding and see the village from the air! Freestylers can hone their skills at the Zeinispark, which features several fun obstacles such as rails, boxes, and moguls. On Wednesdays, you can seize the opportunity to ski under the stars down an illuminated slope. If you’d rather party until the sun comes up, Galtür has plenty of lively après-ski bars and clubs to choose from.

Silvapark Galtür ski area

Galtür has great ski conditions due to its fantastic location and altitude. The ski area in Galtür is called Silvapark: a compact but varied area that features many facilities and a fantastic ski school. That makes the area particularly suitable for families travelling with children.

Despite the small-scale of the area, there are plenty of slopes and trails for (cross-country) skiers to explore. The number of red and black slopes on the piste map may be intimidating for beginners at first, but there are also a number of easier slopes to enjoy. Using the Silvapark Galtür ski pass included when you book your ski holiday with Sunweb, you can explore the whole area with ease.

Silvapark is divided into six sectors, each aimed at a different target group. Zwergerlwelt is for small children, Abenteuerland is for older children, Action Park features the Zeinispark snowpark for freestylers, Heldenbereich has several freeride slopes, Pistenparadies is for skiers, and High & Nordic is for snowshoers and cross-country skiers. You can also go on a fun ski safari all the way to Partenen in the Montafon Valley.

Map

Silvretta Arena

With approximately 350 kilometres of slopes, the Silvretta Arena ski area is a paradise for ski and snowboard enthusiasts. The area consists of the Ischgl, Samnaun, Galtür, Kappl, and See villages, and spans both Austria and Switzerland. Most of the 41 ski lifts and beautiful slopes in the famous Ischgl-Samnaun area are located on northern slopes, above 2000-metres elevation. They are therefore very snow-sure. For snowboarders, Ischgl features a halfpipe and a fun park called Boarders-Paradise. Children and beginners can also take on the challenge there. For carving fans, a carving route has been made specifically for that. The Silvretta cross-country ski trail is approximately 48 kilometres long and connects the lovely ski villages of Ischgl and Galtür. Kappl and See are especially popular with families.

Ischgl

This car-free village can rightly be called one of the most popular ski villages in Austria. Nowadays, partygoers and ski enthusiasts alike know how to find their way to this fashionable village. Trendy après-ski bars such as Kuhstall, Schatzi, Niki's Stadl, and Fire + Ice make Ischgl the 'Ibiza of the Alps'. Every year, the opening of the ski season is heralded with a Top of the Mountains concert there, featuring amazing artists.

Kappl

The village of Kappl is located on the sunny side of the Paznaun Valley, at an altitude of approximately 1200 metres. ‘Kappl’ comes from the phrase 'ad Cappellum', referring to the many chapels in the valley. It is a quiet village with a friendly atmosphere, consisting of several neighbourhoods built against the mountainside. The cable car to the Dias ski area is located in the valley on the main road to Ischgl. Kappl has its own ski area with 40 kilometres of slopes.

See

See is an economical place to stay, close to the fashionable and popular Ischgl. This ski village is located at an altitude of approximately 1000 metres. A sports shop and ski school are located at the valley station of the Medrigjoch lift, where the valley pistes end.

Galtur

At an altitude of 1,584 metres, Galtür is one of the highest skiing villages in Austria and the highest in the Silvretta region. Due to its elevation, this village is very snow-sure. It was built in a traditional Tyrolean style that is more than 600 years old. The village is particularly child-friendly and is very popular with Austrian families. If you like to join in the après-ski fun, Galtür is the village for you. The roof is raised from 16:00 onwards there.
