Obertauern is a perched village in the Austrian Alps. The village is situated on 1740 meters. This is area snows a lot and you can often ski until late April. Obertauern is located in the middle of the ski slopes which is easily accessible. For apres ski Obertauern is a good choice. The village has a vibrant nightlife with cozy restaurants and pubs Obertauern is best known for his 'Around the world' round. You can make beautiful walks in the area. A must is the walk to the superior hotel at about 1797 meters altitude. You will be rewarded with stunning views over the whole area.
Obertauern
Obertauern is a high-altitude village in the Radstädter Tauern mountains of Austria. Its elevation means that the area has great snow conditions, and you can often ski until the end of April there. The village is located in the middle of the ski area, making all of its slopes easily accessible. Obertauern is also a great choice for partygoers, as the village has a vibrant nightlife and several atmospheric restaurants and pubs.
Things to do in Obertauern
Obertauern has it all! Guaranteed snow, over 100 kilometres of ski slopes, and a bustling après-ski scene. There really is something for everyone there.
The Tauernrunde is one of its most well-known ski routes, which can take you through the entire area. This route can be followed both clockwise and anticlockwise during your skiing holiday to Oberauern. Snowboarders can practice their freestyling at The Spot snowpark, and there is even a World Cup trail for cross-country skiers. Hikers will also have plenty to keep them occupied, such as the trail up to the Seekarhaus. At an altitude of 1797 metres, the view from there is simply stunning.
Obertauern’s après-ski scene is spectacular, with lively parties organised at the beginning and end of every winter season. The locals still talk about when the Beatles came to visit: much of the film Help was filmed in Obertauern!

Snow chains are obligatory in the Alps. You need a toll permit for the motorways in Austria. You can buy the permit at the AA in the UK or in Austria at the major border crossings. The European Commission advises you to wear a safety reflector jacket in the event of a break down or accident. This vest can be purchased from the AA in the UK as well.

Ski passes for children born after 01/01/2019 are free. Children born between 01/01/2006 - 31/12/2018 will receive a discount on their ski pass. These discounts can be found in the calculation of your travel sum. Identification is required when collecting your ski pass.
Any surcharges and discounts are only valid upon booking. Other rates are applied locally. It is not possible to redeem your ski pass on another day onsite. An extension of your ski pass can often be booked as an extra; you will find the price for this further in the booking process. A discount for “no ski pass” can also be found during the booking process.

These skis and snowboards are made of high-quality material and are perfect for experienced skiers. They can also be used by skiers who have mastered parallel skiing. This comfortable equipment is suitable for all track types and snow conditions.
Diamond
These are high performance skis and snowboards with the latest technology and are suitable for the most experienced skiers.
