Location and surroundings

Bruneck

The town of Bruneck, which is 835m high, is one of the liveliest and coziest places in the Kronplatz area. Bruneck has a medieval center with several historical churches and a castle. These are definitely worth a visit. The slopes are approximately 3km away, at Reischach, which gives access to the beautiful ski area of Kronplatz. There is also an extensive shopping street with several nice stores. Here you can find clothes and souvenirs. Bruneck has a nursery for young children. In the evening you can try one of the many restaurants and bars in the village. Due to its location on the main road, Bruneck is very well accessible.

Kronplatz

Kronplatz is one of the most versatile and popular ski areas in South Tyrol. The distinctive, almost treeless summit forms the heart of the region, surrounded by charming villages such as Bruneck (Brunico), Olang (Valdaora), Sankt Lorenzen and St. Vigil in Enneberg. From the wide mountaintop, you can enjoy breathtaking 360° views of the Dolomites — a panorama that continues to impress day after day. With around 121 kilometres of perfectly groomed slopes, Kronplatz is an ideal destination for both beginners and advanced winter sports enthusiasts.  Long, gentle blue runs make it perfect for relaxed skiing, while more challenging descents such as the Silvester or Pre da Peres offer excitement for experienced skiers. Families also feel right at home here, thanks to the well-organised layout, modern lifts and dedicated children’s areas. The predominantly wide, open slopes make it easy to find your way around and enjoy the area at your own pace.

Cross-country skiers will also find plenty to explore. In the wider Kronplatz region, there are over 160 kilometres of trails, with even more possibilities nearby in valleys such as Antholz and Gsies.

What makes Kronplatz especially attractive is its connection to the Dolomiti Superski network. This gives you the freedom to explore other ski areas in the region as well. Looking for long ski tours and extensive connections? Then Val di Fassa is a great option. Prefer a smaller and more relaxed area? Obereggen – Latemar offers a quieter atmosphere with modern lifts.

After an active day on the slopes, you can fully enjoy South Tyrolean hospitality. In the many restaurants and mountain huts, you’ll discover a delicious blend of Alpine specialities and Italian cuisine, often paired with excellent regional wines. This makes Kronplatz not only a paradise on the slopes, but also a destination where you can truly relax and enjoy yourself off the slopes.

Kronplatz

  • Longest descent of no less than 7km
  • Evening skiing
  • Ideal for beginners and boarders
  • Beautiful ski area with a fairytale mountain panorama
