Nova Levante (Welschnofen)
Nova Levante (Welschnofen) is a picturesque alpine village in Italy, at an altitude of 1,182 metres. Situated in the Eggental valley, at the foot of the impressive Rosengarten and Latemar massifs (UNESCO World Heritage sites), it is the place to be for nature lovers and ski fans. The Carezza ski area is also just around the corner, offering 40 km of slopes, 12 ski lifts, toboggan runs, and cross-country ski trails. The cable car that departs from the centre of Nova Levante will get you there in just a few minutes.
After skiing, enjoy some après-ski drinks at Restaurant Antermont, right by the slopes. In the village, you will find several cosy places to dine where you can try delicious South Tyrolean and international dishes, and plenty of shops for your daily shopping and ski equipment. The Carezza region is situated in the picturesque Eggental Valley, on the edge of the Dolomites. This area is known for its peaceful atmosphere, impressive mountain scenery, and easy accessibility. The region includes the two smaller villages of Passo Carezza and Nova Levante (Welschnofen), which together form a pleasant base for a relaxing winter sports holiday.
Passo Carezza is located right by the ski area and is particularly popular with winter sports enthusiasts who prefer to stay close to the slopes. Nova Levante (Welschnofen) lies slightly lower in the valley and has more of a traditional village character, with amenities and accommodations spread throughout. Both places offer a quiet, manageable winter sports experience without mass tourism.

Traveling by car:
The national roads are well passable. Pas Piccolo San Bernardo is closed throughout the winter season (November to June).
Keep in mind that the highways require a toll. If you travel via the Austrian motorways, you must be in possession of a toll sticker. For some motorways, tunnels and roads in Austria there is no vignette requirement, but a separate toll must be paid, such as the A13 from Innsbruck-Süd to the Italian border.
There is no general obligation in Italy for winter tyres. Winter equipment (chains or winter tyres) may be mandatory on mountain roads. This is indicated with a traffic sign. Not using winter tires in winter conditions can lead to (joint) liability in the event of accidents and also have criminal consequences. In Austria and Germany, winter tires are required in winter conditions.
In case of breakdown or an accident, it is mandatory that all road users wear a reflective vest.
If you travel via France:
Please note: in some cities it is mandatory to have an environmental sticker from 1 July 2017. If you drive over the Paris ring road, the Boulevard Périphérique, you will also need an environmental sticker in many cases. The vignette can not be obtained along the way, but can only be ordered online. The French police advise to print out the application form and the confirmation and to take it with you if the vignette is not delivered in time by post. Ski passes for children born after 31/12/2018 are free. Children born between 01/01/2008 - 31/12/2017 will receive a discount on their ski pass. These discounts can be found in the calculation of your travel sum. Identification is required when collecting your ski pass.
Any surcharges and discounts are only valid upon booking. Other rates are applied locally. It is not possible to redeem your ski pass on another day onsite. An extension of your ski pass can often be booked as an extra; you will find the price for this further in the booking process. A discount for “no ski pass” can also be found during the booking process.
