General information

Vars consists of four small villages: Saint Marcellin, Sainte Cathérine, Sainte Marie de Vars and Vars les Claux. The pistes, lifts and most accommodations can be found in Vars les Claux at an altitude of approximately 1900 meters.

Vars is known for its 'Ski de Vitesse' competitions. Together with Risoul, Vars has the largest ski resort of the Southern Alps. Besides skiing, many visitors are attracted to the evening entertainment as well. There are different bars, restaurants, nightclubs and a cinema to keep you busy in the evenings.

Also if you would like to try something different during the day there are plenty of options like ice skating in the ice rink, parasailing, joining a torch tour or even dog sleigh tours.
