During your holiday, you can be guaranteed that:

  • The UK government has stated that it is safe to travel to your holiday destination 
  • Your holiday destination is open to tourists
  • Local health care facilities are open and the situation is under control
  • You will not have to be tested for COVID-19 test. However, your body temperature might be measured often during your holiday.
  • You will be able to stay in the residence/hotel/chalet that you have booked.
  • You will be able to leave your accommodation at your own will, 24 hours a day.
  • The majority of local businesses and facilities will be open.

Hygiene & safety

  • To ensure the safety and health of travellers and employees, we have a Health & Safety department that collaborates with Intertek Cristal, a professional organisation with over 23 years of experience in hygiene and safety measures within the tourism industry. 
  • We have prepared "hygiene guidelines" for your entire holiday; flights, transfer, ski lifts, and accommodation.
  • In addition to the focus on prevention of the coronavirus, our accommodations will also carry out security checks on swimming pools, restaurants, fire, water, general safety and security. We are committed to only offering holidays that meet these standards.
  • Our reps will have all taken part in Sunweb Health & Safety training and will be well-informed about the rules and regulations set by the local authorities.
  • You will also have the option of taking part in excursions that comply with these health and safety regulations so that you can enjoy your surroundings in a safe way.

What can you find in My Sunweb? 

  • Your travel documents: please only print out what is really needed, you can always save the documents on your mobile and have them available at all times.
  • Do you have any other questions about your holiday? If so, please contact us, our Contact Center is ready to help. 

What do you need to arrange yourself?

  • It is your responsibility to make sure that you only travel if you have no cold and flu symptoms. Your temperature will be taken when you arrive at your destination airport. If you have a high-temperature, it is your responsibility. 
  • It is important to always keep a safe distance and follow the rules set by the local authorities.
  • Please follow the NHS prevention guidelines and wash your hands regularly.
  • It is also important to make sure you have good travel and health insurance.
  • You will also need to bring your own face masks with you as they will not be supplied by Sunweb or Sunweb's partners. Please note that the current advice is to change your mask every three hours.

In the aeroplane  

If you have booked your holiday with a fight please make sure you are fully aware of the precautions that you will need to take during the flight. However, here are some things to keep in mind before you travel: 

  • The aircraft will be cleaned thoroughly between flights and the air will be filtered 
  • You will have to wear a mask on board the aircraft.
  • It will be very important to follow the rules set by the airline 
  • There will be minimal services available onboard, no drinks or food will be served on the flight.
  • There are no rules on the number of people on board. It is possible that the flight is fully booked. 
  • Inflight magazines and other printed materials are no longer available.

Arriving at the airport in a foreign country 

  • Always follow the instructions of the local authorities on arrival in your destination country.

  • Local authorities may conduct a temperature check upon arrival. If your temperature reading is high you may be refused entry. If you are refused entry this is at your own risk.

  • Follow the social distancing rules of the destination you are travelling to from the moment you land.  If in doubt 2 meters is a safe choice.

  • Wear a facemask inside and outside the airport.

  • You will meet your transfer outside the airport.  The exact information can be found on your tickets and vouchers for your holiday.

  • Every destination has its own rules when it comes to hygiene and safety. We would like to advise you to read up on this in advance.

Your transfer 

  • Please always respect the distancing rules with the reps and drivers.
  • The bus driver will wear gloves. Disinfectant is available for everyone. 
  • Please follow the instructions of the support staff when you get on the bus.
  • Remember to pack a new, clean mask to wear during the transfer. It is possible that it is required. 

Drive yourself 

  • If you have decided to drive to the mountains all the way from the UK, you will be able to avoid crowds for most of the journey.
  • If you need to free up space in your car, you can always hire free ski/snowboard equipment for a discounted price. Our partners on resort will be obliged to meet our health and safety requirements set by Intertek Cristal. 
  • Many of our accommodations have parking facilities - some better than others but ultimately there will always be somewhere safe to park your car. 
  • At Sunweb, your financially protected package holiday is still a "package holiday" as the lift pass is included.

  • Our reps will have all taken part in Sunweb Health & Safety training and will be well-informed about the rules and regulations set by the local authorities.
  • The rep is available 24 hours a day for all your questions by telephone. Via social media at specified times. The rep always wears a face mask. A face shield and gloves are optional. 
  • The rep is not permitted to enter the accommodation.
  • If you decide to book an extra via the rep, it will not possible to pay with cash.

  • Our accommodations strictly follow the rules of the local authorities. 
  • Our accommodations use the standards according to the Intertek Cristal guidelines.
  • Certain facilities at the property may be closed. 
  • Keep 2 meters away from staff.
  • Always follow the directions of staff and you will have a great and safe holiday!

Your journey home

  • 48 hours before arrival into the UK you must complete a passenger locator form online provided by GOV UK. You can find this form here
  • If you are driving home, we wish you a safe journey home. 
  • If you are not using a Sunweb transfer, please make sure you arrive at the airport on time, preferably 3 hours before departure.
  • Follow the rules of the local authorities and check the airport information.
  • Always maintain 2-metre distancing.
  • You must wear a facemask during the transfer, at the airport and on the plane.
  • All airport and transfer staff will wear facemasks.
  • We would like to continuously improve our service and therefore we will send you a short questionnaire when you return home.
