Résidence Christiania is all about location, location, LOCATION. Not only is the lively town center of Risoul nearby (50m) but the lifts and slopes are only 50 meters away, on your doorstep.
After a day on the slopes, one of the greatest pleasures is to take it easy in one of the buzzing bars. The town center has many restaurants where you can “refuel” before a peaceful nights sleep. The studios and apartments at the Christiania are traditional and cosy, with lots of wooden used in the contruction. If you don’t feel like going out for dinner; all units have kitchenettes where you can prepare a home-cooked supper for your family.

Nearly all accomodation in Risoul is ski in ski out. In the afternoon,it is so easy to get back to your apartment! Most buildings are made of wood giving the village a cozy feel.
There is plenty to do here with lots of nice restaurants and some bars and clubs where you can enjoy the lively après-ski.
Snowboarders and skiers can both have a great time here with one of the largest fun parks in Europe. It has an illuminated halfpipe and the piste area has nearly 100 miles of trails. Furthermore, there are many organized events in the area such as music concerts and in April the annual end of season party!
In the Hautes Alpes, two ski resorts have combined together to form a ski area called La Forêt Blanche. If you like skiing in the trees this is the place for you!
Vars is the largest and most famous place of the two and consists of a combination of four small villages. Three of them are at an altitude of about 1650 meters. Risoul is a modern station and more suited to families.
Skiers can test their speed on the Kilomètre Lance, known as the fastest track in the world - see how fast you can go!
Surf Country, the largest snow park in Europe, with a fun park and a half pipe attracts snow-boarders and skiers alike and cross-country skiers find approximately 43 kilometers of trails.
To make it complete, there are various events held throughout the year so you will never get bored.

It is not likely that the service charger will be added to the bill automatically. If you are pleased with the service you can round off or leave a tip of 10%.

A UK mobile phone should work in France. The setup for this may differ per provider, so it is best to inquire about this before hand.
Safety on the slopes:
In France, wearing a helmet is not mandatory but recommended (especially for children). In ski classes (for all ages), it is often compulsory.
You must be in possession of a valid passport in order to travel to France.
Food and Drinks:
Cheese, croissants, baguettes and wine! It is possible to drink tap water.
As a general rule, the shops are open on Monday/Friday from 09:00 to 19:00. However, some shops may close over lunchtime. On Sunday and Monday, a selection of shops are closed. Some supermarkets are open on Sunday mornings.

Travelling by car:
Most motorways in France require you to pay a toll fee. The Pas Piccolo San Bernardo is closed the whole winter (November - June). Always check the locat weather reports before departing.
In some cities and towns it is obligaroty to have a "environmentsl sticker". It is not possible to buy these stickers en route. You will have to order them online before you leave home. The lift pass for children up to 4 years old and for seniors aged 75 and over is free. If you are entitled to a free lift pass, choose "No lift pass" when booking. This free lift pass can be picked up locally on presentation of your ID.
