Location and surroundings

Kappl

The village of Kappl is located at an altitude of 1200 meters on the sunny side of the Paznauntal. The name Kappl is derived from the Latin name "Ad Cappellum", directed at the many chapels in the valley. Kappl is known as a peaceful village with a friendly atmosphere and consists of different neighbourhoods built up against the mountain slope. The cabin lift to the Dias ski resort is located in the valley along the road to Ischgl. Kappl also has its own ski resort with 40 kilometers of pistes. Hikers can follow the luge path up to the mountain restaurant of Dias at an altitude of 1830 meters.
A fun and alternative descent can be made in the evening on a sleigh down the 6 kilometer long flood-lit sleigh track. The famous ski resort of Ischgl is located a mere 10 kilometers down the road from Kappl. A ski bus service runs between the two villages (approx. € 1,- return). The après-ski in Kappl is relatively low key. The real après-ski fanatics can of course head to Ischgl. There, stamina permitting, you can party all through the night. For a fun day trip you can spend an afternoon shopping in Landeck or in the tax free zone of Samnaun.

Kappl

The village of Kappl is situated on the sunny side of the Paznauntal at an altitude of 1200 metres (4,000 ft). Kappl originates from the latin ‘ad Cappelum’, referring to the many chapels in the valley. It is a peaceful village with a cosy atmosphere and consists of several neighbourhoods built at the foot of the mountain.
The cable car to the Dias ski resort is located in the valley on the road to Ischgl. Kappl also has its own ski area, with 40 km (25 ml) of pistes. Apart from skiing, there is plenty to do elsewhere. Hikers can reach the mountain restaurant Dias at an altitude of 1830 metres (6,000 ft) via the luge track. Why not try the 6 km illuminated luge track in the evening? There is also the Sunny Mountain Club Kappl for children, with a varied program every week.
The famous skiing destination of Ischgl is located approximately 10 km (6 miles) from Kappl. A ski bus connects these two resorts (which is free with a ski pass). The après-ski scene in Kappl is relatively small-scale, but après-ski enthusiasts can easily head to Ischgl. There, you can expect plenty of late-night partying in one of the many great bars!
Additionaly, many people choose to head to the shops in Landeck or take advantage of the tax-free region of Samnaun for a bit of holiday shopping!
