Skiing in Wengen

About Wengen

Wengen is a beautiful, unique, and completely car-free village that can only be reached by train. Upon arrival, park your car in the parking garage at Lauterbrunnen (approx. CHF 11,-/€6.60 p.d.), after which the train will take you into Wengen. Due to the lack of cars in the village, it has a wonderfully peaceful mountain atmosphere. The beautiful, authentic hotels in the village are not frequented by many people; Wengen is still relatively unknown amongst winter sports enthusiasts.

Wengen is also known for the World Cup descent Lauberhorn, and the ski area of Wengen is completely connected to that of Grindelwald. There is a lot of variety in ski slopes which makes the area suitable for all skill levels. In the village street you will find cosy bars and typical Swiss restaurants, where you can enjoy some delicious cheese fondue.

Would you like to experience a truly authentic part of Switzerland, the tranquillity of the mountains, and miles of ski pistes? Then Wengen is the ideal winter sports destination for you.
