Skiing in Seiser Alm
About Seiser Alm
Enjoy skiing on the sunniest plateau in the Dolomites
The Seiser Alm (Alpe di Siusi) ski area lies in the heart of South Tyrol and is Europe’s largest high-altitude alpine meadow. Here, you can ski across a stunning, sun-drenched plateau with breathtaking panoramic views in every direction.
With around 60 kilometres of slopes and one of the best snow parks in South Tyrol, this area is ideal for families and beginners. The wide, open slopes are mainly blue and easy red runs — perfect for relaxed and enjoyable skiing.
Looking for more variety or longer routes? Val Gardena is close by. From Seiser Alm, you can easily connect to this larger ski area and even take on the famous Sella Ronda circuit. The fastest connection is via a (paid) bus from Saltria to Monte Pana. Together, Seiser Alm and Val Gardena offer an impressive 181 kilometres of slopes — ideal for longer ski adventures.
You can reach Seiser Alm from Seis am Schlern in just 15 minutes by gondola. Once at the top, you’ll enjoy not only excellent slopes but also unforgettable views of the Dolomites. The area is part of Dolomiti Superski, giving you access to one of the world’s largest ski regions and endless winter sports opportunities.
There is plenty to do off the slopes too. With around 80 kilometres of cross-country trails and 60 kilometres of winter hiking paths, there is something for everyone. Explore the area on snowshoes or enjoy a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride — a peaceful way to experience this unique winter landscape.
Seiser Alm is also a dream for food lovers. Across the area, you’ll find cosy mountain huts serving a delicious mix of South Tyrolean specialities and Italian cuisine. From hearty dishes like speck and dumplings to fresh pasta and sunny terraces perfect for a cappuccino or Aperol Spritz, every break here is a highlight. Combined with warm hospitality and stunning views, dining on the mountain becomes an experience in itself.
