Hotel Sud-Ovest

Hotel Sud-Ovest is a small hotel which has recently been renovated. The cosmopolitan center of Sestriere and the ski slopes are nearby and is the perfect base to explore the La Via Lattea ski area. The hotel has a playroom for the kids so they can make friends and keep themselves busy when they are not on their skis. The meals are wonderful, prepared using fresh and local produce. The rooms are basic yet comfortable. Each room has its own bathroom and small flat screen TV.

Sestrière

Via Lattea (Sestriere) is on the boarder of France and Italy and is one of the most impressive areas in Europe with great conditions. The views are amazing and you will certainly enjoy exploring this expansive ski area of about 400km of pistes. The ski area ideal for intermediate/experienced skiers but is suitable for all levels with numerous beginner pistes. This high altitude resort was underwent extensive improvements for the Olympics in 2006, this was necessary as it was one of the first “purpose built” resorts in the Italian Alps. This is a wonderful family resort with many activities such as ice-skating; the restaurants and bars seem more affordable than other resorts in Switzerland, France and Austria.

The ski area is also known as the "Milky Way” and the Winter Olympics were held here in 2006. Trentino: The rules for accessing the cable lifts require:

- Possession of the Covid-19 green certification, in accordance with the regulations in force at the time.

- The maintenance of social distancing of at least 1 metres.

- The wearing of a surgical mask or higher (FFP2), in the common areas and during transport on the cable lifts. Facilities will operate at 100% for chairlifts, 80% for cable cars and gondola lifts South-Tirol.

- Guests with a valid Green Pass (EU Covid-19 certificate), are permitted to use cable cars and lifts. Children under the age of 12 are exempt from this rule.

- All guests must keep a safe 1 metres distance to others.

- Sufficient ventilation and disinfection of the lift facilities will be ensured.

- All gondolas and cable cars are to be filled to max 80% occupancy; chairlifts may be 100% occupied, or 80% if they have weather protection bubbles.

Traveling by car:

The national roads are well passable. Pas Piccolo San Bernardo is closed throughout the winter season (November to June).

Keep in mind that the highways require a toll. If you travel via the Austrian motorways, you must be in possession of a toll sticker. For some motorways, tunnels and roads in Austria there is no vignette requirement, but a separate toll must be paid, such as the A13 from Innsbruck-Süd to the Italian border.

There is no general obligation in Italy for winter tyres. Winter equipment (chains or winter tyres) may be mandatory on mountain roads. This is indicated with a traffic sign. Not using winter tires in winter conditions can lead to (joint) liability in the event of accidents and also have criminal consequences. In Austria and Germany, winter tires are required in winter conditions.

In case of breakdown or an accident, it is mandatory that all road users wear a reflective vest.

If you travel via France:

Please note: in some cities it is mandatory to have an environmental sticker from 1 July 2017. If you drive over the Paris ring road, the Boulevard Périphérique, you will also need an environmental sticker in many cases. The vignette can not be obtained along the way, but can only be ordered online. The French police advise to print out the application form and the confirmation and to take it with you if the vignette is not delivered in time by post. Food and drink:

Italy is known for pizzas, pastas and risottos. It is not recommended to drink tap water.

In step 1 of the booking process it is indicated for which days the lift pass is valid (eg Sunday to Friday). If you would like the lift pass to start on a different day than indicated in the booking steps, you must contact our contact centre by telephone. The booking can then be adjusted. On-site it is not possible to change the lift pass for another day. An extension of the lift pass can often be booked additionally; the price for this can be found in the further course of the booking steps. Discounts:

Children born between 01-01-2011 and 31-12-2012 and seniors born up to and including 31-12-1945 receive a discount on the lift pass. These discounts can be found in the calculation of your travel sum. For children and seniors, ID is required when collecting the lift pass.

Deposit:

The lift pass is a hands-free lift pass. On site you have to pay € 5, - which you get back when you hand in the lift pass.

A helmet for children and adults is not included in the rental of ski and / or snowboard equipment.
