Les Arcs

Les Arcs ski area

Les Arcs is the collective name for the villages of Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950, Arc 2000, and Bourg-Saint-Maurice. The first four districts, also called plateaus, are car-free and are connected via a free shuttle service. The lowest village, Bourg-Saint-Maurice, is the gateway to the Tarentaise Valley, where you can enjoy the most delicious fondue, raclette, and tartiflette. From there, you can take a train up to Arc 1600 in just seven minutes. Les Arcs is located in the Les Arcs/Peisey-Vallandry ski area, in the Paradiski region in the French Alps. This area has everything for a perfect ski trip. With 200 kilometres of mainly blue, red, and black slopes, and 73 kilometres of trails for cross-country skiers, you will never run out of things to do. Each neighbourhood has its own characteristic features and is located at a different altitude, so you can choose to stay in the village that suits you best.

Something for everyone

You want to go to Les Arcs for a skiing holiday, but which 'Arc' do you choose? Arc 1950 is the most atmospheric family village, built in the fairytale Whistler Canadian architectural style. Everything there is centred around the village square, and you will find many lovely shops, restaurants, and bars where quality and service come first. Are the après-ski drinks with your friends the best part of your ski trip for you? Then the largest and most vibrant village, Arc 1800, is the place for you. Arc 1600 is the oldest and smallest ski village of the four. Many families with young children choose to stay there since it is mostly flat and car-free. Arc 2000 is the highest village, perfect for the experienced skier or snowboarder. The challenging black slopes of Aiguille Rouge await you there... do you dare?

Snow-sure fun

The Les arcs ski area is extremely snow-sure, with its two glaciers and several peaks all above 3000 metres elevation. And regardless of the weather, there are endless things to do there for skiers and snowboarders. One highlight you shouldn’t miss is the 7.5-hectare Apocalypse snow park. It has woops, ramps, a mini pipe for beginners, and four rows of kickers and boxes for practicing your skills. For an extra challenge, it even has a shred line specifically for expert skiers. There’s also the Mille8, located in the heart of Les Arcs, just above Arc 1800. This multifunctional park truly has everything, including great places to grab après-ski drinks, a freestyle slope, a 900-metre toboggan slope with a tunnel, a special beginners’ and children's zone, a pedestrian path, a fantastic indoor and outdoor swimming paradise of 3800m2 and an excellent restaurant with live music.

Les Arcs/Peisey-Vallandry

Skiing in Les Arcs/Peisey-Vallandry

Together with La Plagne, Les Arcs/Peisey-Vallandry is part of the larger Paradiski ski area. The villages of Les Arcs and Peisey-Vallandry together form a ski resort with a total of 106 pistes in a 200km area. Les Arcs is the most well-known of the two, so it can get quite busy there, but you can usually enjoy peaceful skiing around Peisey-Vallandry. This is also reflected in the waiting times at the ski lifts, which are almost non-existent there.

For beginners, the slopes in the lower parts of Arc 1600 and 1800 are ideal for mastering skiing. For advanced skiers, the famous Aiguille Rouge black slope is the place to visit. This is perhaps the most challenging slope within the whole Paradiski area. With the top at an altitude of no less than 3200 metres, there is a fantastic 360° view over Mont Pourri, Pierra Menta, and of course Mont Blanc.

Discover La Passerelle on the Aiguille Rouge, a panoramic walkway at 3200 metres altitude. This walkway is accessible to pedestrians, children, and skiers. With a length of 35 metres, it offers you a breathtaking view over the Hauts de Villaroger nature reserve.

Activities in Les Arcs

Les Arcs features some fantastic snow parks. They are renowned as the most snowboard-friendly spots in all of Europe! At the 7.5-hectare Apocalypse snow park, be sure not to miss the Big Air competition, where you can watch the best freestyle skiers and snowboarders jump from a launchpad. You can also practise your stunts on the rails, boxes, and other obstacles there, including a water slide. Can you ski to the other side without getting wet?

Besides regular skiing or snowboarding, Les Arcs offers so much more. How about some ski touring, cross-country skiing, tobogganing, paragliding, snowshoeing, skijouring, dogsledding, or a visit to Mille8? Nothing is too crazy in Les Arcs!

La Folie Douce

La Folie Douce offers three restaurants right by the slopes. Enjoy great food, unique shows, delicious drinks, and of course some après-ski fun. Every day from 13:30 - 14:30, there is a cabaret show held there. Afterwards, it’s time for a party with amazing music played by well-known DJs. La Folie Douce is open until 19:00 and even later on Thursdays.

Seniors aged 75 years old and over must pay a one-time fee of €10 when collecting their Les Arcs/Peisey-Vallandry (Classique) or Paradiski ski pass (Essentiel) locally. If you are entitled to this ski pass, you should choose 'no ski pass' when booking. Identification is required when collecting your ski pass.

Any surcharges and discounts are only valid upon booking. Other rates are applied locally. It is not possible to redeem your ski pass on another day onsite. An extension of your ski pass can often be booked as an extra; you will find the price for this further in the booking process.
