St. Martin de Belleville is located at 1450 meters altitude in the Vallée des Belleville and is part of the world's largest ski area Les Trois Vallees. This town still exudes the traditional atmosphere of the Savoy which you can find in the cozy little streets, stone and wooden houses, the beautiful, built in baroque style church and the many shops.
Les Menuires is reached by blue and red runs. St. Martin de Belleville is suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers or snowboarders. Freestylers will enjoy the fun park located at 2500 meters and the halfpipe at Les Menuires. For a 10-kilometer cross-country trail which runs partly through forest and partly through open terrain St. Martin de Belleville is the place! In the evening you can visit the piano bar or pub where live concerts are often held.
Want to try something different? Other activites include sledding on inflatable buoys, driving a snow mobile or ice skating.
The powder snow paradise of Les Trois Vallées is located in the Savoie. Val Thorens is the highest French ski village here. The village centre of Val Thorens is located at an altitude of 2300 meters (7,600 ft)! From here many lifts depart for even higher pistes. Les Trois Vallées is one of the largest interconnected ski resorts in the world. With 180 lifts and 600 km (373 ml) of prepared pistes, a true journey of discovery awaits you!
For snowboarders there is a snow park, a half pipe and a boarder cross. There are also unlimited off-piste options for free riders. Cross country skiers can make their hearts beat faster in the lower areas of Méribel, La Tania and Les Menuires.
The ski region of Les Trois Vallées consists of 4 smaller ski areas:
Val Thorens
Val Thorens is the highest French village, with the village core at 2300 meters altitude and has approximately 140 km of runs and approximately 29 ski lifts. From here many lifts start and bring you to even higher slopes. If you stay in Val Thorens, you can choose from two different ski passes. One for Val Thorens and one for the entire ski resort of Les Trois Vallées. For those who are not so advanced, a lift pass for just Val Thorens should be sufficient. For the avid skiers and those who like to make long trips we recommend a lift pass for the entire Trois Vallées area. We advise you to select your lift pass when making the booking, since you have to pay much more for lift pass once you are in Val Thorens. The high altitude and presence of a glacier will allow skiers and snow boarders to ski throughout the whole season. (Please note: The glacier may be closed if there is sufficient snow on the slopes and in the village)
Les Menuires
The Les Menuires ski resort has a total of 160 kilometers of slopes, which can be reached via 51 lifts. Due to the easy accessibility, waiting times are relatively short. Since the new gondola lift between Les Menuires and St. Martin de Belleville has been opened, the connection between these areas has become even better. This is a wonderful place for skiers and snow boarders with the experience level of a beginner or intermediate, since the slopes are not that difficult to manage.
Méribel
The Méribel ski resort has 150 kilometers of slopes and modern gondola lifts. The area consists of two connected parts, Méribel and Méribel-Mottaret. For the avid skiers, there are two Olympic downhill runs and an official slalom downhill run. Snowboarders have not been forgotten in this ski area since there is a half-pipe and a board- cross for the dare devils.
La Vallée de Courchevel
The varying area consists of small and large cozy villages and many wide slopes. Courchevel has a total of 150km of runs and approximately 45 lifts. When you are on the slopes you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The snowy mountain caps and the forest make this a wonderful and magical destination. Courchevel has the largest cabin lift in the whole of the French Alps and can hold 160 people. From Courchevel, you can easily get to the other ski areas that are interconnected with it.
