In a beautiful high location in Schladming is Apartments Ferienalm Schladming. From the hotel you have a fantastic panoramic view of the slopes of the Planai. All of the apartments are spacious and comfortably furnished. They each have a balcony where you can reminisce on your daily achievements. The free ski bus stops right outside the complex and offers easy access to the huge Ski Amade.
After a nice day on skis, you can try one of the après ski bars in the centre. Every evening you can enjoy dinner in the restaurant of Ferienalm Schladming: here you can enjoy delicious dishes from the region.

The former mining town of Schladming in Austria is steeped in history and dates all the way back to the middle ages. A ski holiday in Schladming offers skiers the opportunity to not only enjoy the slopes but also learn about all of the stories that have occurred within the walls of the old towns. Despite its history, the ski resort is modern and skiing in Schladming is taken very seriously; with the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships once even taking place on these very slopes.
A Schladming ski holiday takes place in the Ennstal valley at the foot of the Plaani, surrounded by lush green forest slopes and 8 other mountains of the Schladming-Dachstein ski region. With so much to entertain you, you can never get bored in this car-free village with beautiful views, a hot air balloon ride, and many hiking trails with fantastic spots to watch the sunset.
Skiing in Schladming offers more than just the slopes, there is a gym with indoor tennis and squash courts, a public pool and, not to forget, a popular shopping area if sports isn’t your thing. There are over 30 restaurants in the centre and plenty of bars to fulfil your après-skis needs, including one of the biggest après-ski bars in Europe, Hohenhaus Tenne.
Skiing in Schladming
Schladming is part of the bigger ski area of Schladming-Dachstein, which is part of the ski region Ski Amadé in Austria. The ski area of Schladmning-Dachstein boasts approximately 232km of pistes for both the beginner and the advanced skiers making Schladming ski holidays ideal for everyone. The highest point in this area is 2700m and, for those who want to try cross-country skiing, there is also 230km of tracks to be explored.
Sunweb offers a ski packages to suit every budget and requirement, from cheap and cheerful weekend getaways to all-inclusive ski packages so you don't have to step foot in the kitchen.
This modern resort has nine mountains with three of them above 2000m altitude. Four of the nine mountains in this area are connected by connecting lifts: Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm. These links makes it extremely easy to take day trips to other areas. Schladming-Dachstein offers excellent opportunities for advanced skiers. One example in the Planai, which offers very fast and steep slopes.
Families can enjoy the excellent Galsterbergalm, Fageralm, Stoderzinken and on the other side of the Ennstal, Ramsau am Dachstein. In Ramsau cross-country skiers and hikers will also enjoy themselves with a range of different tracks.
Schladming-Dachstein is really a paradise for skiers. There is the longest descent in the alps here, as well as the Hochwurzen Playground for free style skiers and snow boarders.

The official language is German but English is widely spoken as well.
There is one hour time difference with the UK (GMT+1).
The official currency is the Euro.
It is customary in Austria to tip between 5% and 10% in bars and restaurants.
Food & Drink:
Austria is known for its Vienna Schnitzels and Glühwein. Tap water is safe for drinking.
Opening times shops:
Shops are usually open from Monday until Friday from 09.00 AM to 18.00 PM (some shops close during the afternoon). Most shops are closed on Sunday.
Travelling by car:
Snow chains are obligatory in the Alps. You need a toll permit for the motorways in Austria. You can buy the permit at the AA in the UK or in Austria at the major border crossings. The European Commission advises you to wear a safety reflector jacket in the event of a break down or accident. This vest can be purchased from the AA in the UK as well.
The voltage is 230 volt.
UK mobile phones work in Austria as well.
You need to be in the possession of a valid passport to travel to Austria.

All Sunweb flights are booked with EasyJet. Hold luggage and ski equipment as luggage are NOT included in your package price. This can be added as an extra in Step 2 of the booking process. The price of luggage varies, as per Easyjets policies. All flight bookings include one cabin bag per person (maximum size of 56 x 45 x 25cm; including handles and wheels).

Return airport transfers are included in your package price when booking a flight package with Sunweb. These however can be removed in Step 2 of the booking steps if you would like to add in a hire car or seek an alternative travel arrangement. All transfers are shared transfers to and from your accommodation and the airport.
Due to the nature of shared transfers, there may be a wait time at the airport before your departure. This can be up to 1.5 hours. Please note that there will NOT be a Sunweb rep waiting for you at the airport as the transfer is managed by a partner. All information regarding the transfer (meeting point, departure times etc) will be explained on your travel documents that are sent to you 14 days before departure. The transfer will drop you off in the resort area; you may have not be dropped exactly outside your accommodation.
Departure from the UK:
Please ensure that you are not late and have checked in online before arriving at the airport. In addition to checking in online, you will have to enter your passport information. This is called API (advanced passenger information) and you will receive instructions from Sunweb after you have booked the holiday.
Arrival on Resort:
If you are planning on checking in late on your arrival day, it is almost always possible to get into your hotel or apartment. However, it is very important that this is arranged in advance. You will receive your travel documents two weeks before your departure, and this will include instructions on how to arrange your late arrival and collection of the key.
Once you agree to Sunweb’s Term’s and Conditions you are legally obliged to pay for the holiday and any cancellation fees that may apply.

In step 1 of the booking process, you can see which days your lift pass is valid for. If you want to use the ski lift on a different day than designated, please contact our contact centre by telephone. It is not possible to change the days of the lift pass once you have arrived at the destination.
If you wish to extend the lift pass, it can often be booked as an extra. The price for extending the lift pass can be found in step 1 of the booking. If you choose “no lift pass”, the discount can also be found in step 2 of the booking process.
Children born on or after 1/1/2015 are entitled to a free lift pass. You'll need to buy a Mini Card on the spot. Children born between 01/01/2002 and 31/12/2014 will get a discount on their lift pass.
These discounts can be found in the calculation of your fare, in step 2 of the booking process.
The discounts mentioned above are only valid when booking through Sunweb. At the destinations, other rates may apply.
