Schladming

The former mining town of Schladming in Austria is steeped in history and dates all the way back to the Middle Ages. A ski holiday in Schladming offers skiers the opportunity to not only enjoy the slopes but also to learn the stories and traditions of the rich local culture. But don’t be fooled: Schladming may be old, but it has plenty of new tricks up its sleeve. Skiing in Schladming is taken very seriously and its facilities are very modern, with the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships even being held there in the past.

Endless things to do

Schladming is nestled in the Ennstal valley at the foot of the Planai, surrounded by lush green forest and the eight other mountains of the Schladming-Dachstein region. With so much to entertain you, you will never feel bored in this charming, car-free village. Take in the beautiful views, go on an unforgettable hot air balloon ride, or hike a trail up to a fantastic spot to watch the sun set over the mountains.

Schladming offers so much more than just slopes, with indoor tennis and squash courts, a family-friendly public swimming pool, and a popular shopping area if sports isn’t your thing. There are over 30 restaurants in the centre and plenty of bars to fulfil your après-skis needs, including one of the biggest après-ski bars in Europe, Hohenhaus Tenne.

Conquer the slopes in Schladming

As part of the larger Schladming-Dachstein ski area, Schladming falls under the Ski Amadé region. With a Sunweb ski holiday package, a ski pass for all of Ski Amadé will be included in your booking. That means you can expand your ski holiday into other resorts in the region with ease. Schladmning-Dachstein boasts approximately 232km of pistes for both beginner and advanced skiers to explore. For those who’d like to try their hand at cross-country skiing, there are also 230km of trails waiting for you there. The highest point in this area is at 2700m elevation, giving you plenty of snow during your trip.

Sunweb offers ski packages to suit every budget and lifestyle, from last-minute weekend getaways to all-inclusive ski packages so you won't have to even think about the kitchen. You can even book a ski-in, ski-out hotel right by the slopes, for ultimate convenience.

Map

Schladming-Dachstein - Ski Amadé

This modern resort has nine mountains with three of them above 2000m altitude. Four of the nine mountains in this area are connected by connecting lifts: Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm. These links makes it extremely easy to take day trips to other areas. Schladming-Dachstein offers excellent opportunities for advanced skiers. One example in the Planai, which offers very fast and steep slopes.

Families can enjoy the excellent Galsterbergalm, Fageralm, Stoderzinken and on the other side of the Ennstal, Ramsau am Dachstein. In Ramsau cross-country skiers and hikers will also enjoy themselves with a range of different tracks.

Schladming-Dachstein is really a paradise for skiers. There is the longest descent in the alps here, as well as the Hochwurzen Playground for free style skiers and snow boarders.
