Skiing in Kastelruth

About Kastelruth

Kastelruth, or Castelrotto in Italian, is an authentic, small, and picturesque village in the heart of South Tyrol in Italy. It is a charming destination without a ski area right on its doorstep. The village’s traditional churches are certainly worth a visit.

Via the gondola in Seis am Schlern, you can easily reach the family-friendly Seiser Alm ski area, located just a few minutes from Kastelruth. This ski area offers a total of 60 kilometers of slopes. At an altitude of 1,825 meters, it is also an ideal destination for cross-country skiers who appreciate peace, authenticity, and nature.

As Kastelruth itself is not a ski resort, there is no après-ski scene here. Instead, you will find excellent restaurants serving delicious local specialties and wines. With breathtaking views of the Italian Dolomites, Kastelruth is the perfect destination for those who love charming, small villages and are seeking tranquility.
