Chalet Dame Blanche

Chalet Dame Blanche is located in the Latin Quarter, the chalet and is the showpiece of La Tania. After just a few minutes walk you're already in the middle of the centre and the piste is just 50m away. From here you have direct access to the vast ski resort of Courchevel and Méribel in the huge Les Trois Vallées.

 

The chalet consists of 4 floors and offers your lots of privacy. Each bedroom has its own ensuite, and a beautiful view from balcony. There is no need to worry about food at this accommodation, as you stay on an all inclusive basis with delicious dinners, breakfast, après ski snacks and drinks. You can also watch the sunset behind the mountain in your private hot tub!

La Tania

At an altitude of 1350 meters in the vast ski area of Les Trois Vallées you will find La Tania. The relatively new, but cosy timbered mountain village is situated between Courchevel and Meribel. The car-free village consists of ten larger apartment buildings and detached chalets. This village was built in a unique way that meets most skiers’ and snow boarders’ wishes. Most apartments and chalets are situated on or adjacent to the pistes. After a wholesome breakfast, you can pop on your skis and glide onto the pistes, and at the end of your day you ski back to your doorstep.

Today, La Tania has managed to maintain its modest size in the heart of the world's largest ski area. The child-friendly village is ideal for families and provides lots of tranquility. There are a number of fine restaurants and bars where you can go for a drink and a snack, and for those who would like some more après-ski fun, you can also go to Meribel.

Skiing in La Tania

The ski resort of La Tania covers about 150 kilometres of runs. However, if you prefer a larger ski area, you can always upgrade your lift pass to the whole region of Les Trois Vallées, which covers up to 600 kilometres of slopes. The highest point in this ski region is 3230 meters and for those who enjoy cross country skiing, there is approximately 132 km of cross country tracks which can be explored.

La Vallée de Courchevel

This diverse area consists of small, cozy villages and many wide slopes. On the slopes you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings. There are a range of forests and snowy peaks. Courchevel has one of the largest cable cars in the French Alps, with up to 160 people able to use it.

From 15th of December, people over 65 years old will lose their vaccination certificate 7 months after the last vaccination. This rule also applies to everyone from the age of 18 from 15 January. From 15th of December, people with the Janssen vaccine will no longer have a health card, unless they have received an ARN booster vaccine within 8 weeks of their vaccination.

As off 15/1 only fully vaccinated or recovered people, wil have a valid green pass. PCR tests will not be sufficient anymore as of then. Only seated service.

Restaurants: Since 15 December, a dose of the Janssen vaccine, which was taken more than two months ago, will no longer give travelers a French health pass (they can take a test instead). If they have not received a booster vaccine. This applies to entry to activities (such as ski lifts), hotels, etc. in France but not to international trips to France, which can still be done with a dose of the Jansen vaccine.

The voltage is 220 and the socket is different compared to the general UK sockets. You can buy an European adapter in most airports and supermarkets.

Mobile:

A UK mobile phone should work in France. The setup for this may differ per provider, so it is best to inquire about this before hand.

Safety on the slopes:

In France, wearing a helmet is not mandatory but recommended (especially for children). In ski classes (for all ages), it is often compulsory.

Travel documents:

You must be in possession of a valid passport in order to travel to France.

Food and Drinks:

Cheese, croissants, baguettes and wine! It is possible to drink tap water.

Opening hours:

As a general rule, the shops are open on Monday/Friday from 09:00 to 19:00. However, some shops may close over lunchtime. On Sunday and Monday, a selection of shops are closed. Some supermarkets are open on Sunday mornings.

Travelling by car:
Most motorways in France require you to pay a toll fee. The Pas Piccolo San Bernardo is closed the whole winter (November - June). Always check the locat weather reports before departing.

In some cities and towns it is obligaroty to have a "environmentsl sticker". It is not possible to buy these stickers en route. You will have to order them online before you leave home. French authorities advise you to print out the form and the confirmation of the sticker if it does not arrive at your home in time. You can find the form on:

Lift pass, lessons and material

The ski area Les Trois Vallées is  open from Saturday 6th December, 2017 until Friday 24th April 2018

Discounts:

The lift pass for children under 4 and seniors older than 75 years old is free. Children aged between 5-12 years old and seniors between 65-74 years receive a discount on the lift pass. These discounts can be found in the calculated fares in step 3 of the booking process. If you are entitled to a free pass, select ‘no skipass’ when booking. The free pass can collected locally by showing your ID at the resort.

Deposit:

At the resort you will have to pay a deposit for the lift pass.

ID:

An ID is required for free lift passes.

The above price increases and reductions are only valid when booking through Sunweb. Locally different rates are used.

You can specify that you would like to include ski hire directly when booking. This can be done is step 2 of the booking process.

The following types of material can be booked:

Bronze

This material is ideal for beginners and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. This material is particularly agile, so it makes turning and breaking easy. Parallel skiing is also possible with these skis.

Silver

This is ideal material for intermediate skiers and snowboarders. The material is agile, but also suitable to cut corners sharp. Even at high speeds these skis provide great performance.

Gold

These skis and snowboards are made of high quality material, and are perfect for experienced skiers. This comfortable material is suitable on all track types and snow conditions.

Diamond

These are high performance skis and snowboards with the latest technology, and are suitable for the most experienced skiers.
