Résidence L'Horizon Blanc is a simple apartment in a top location in La Joue du Loup. It is centrally located in the village, close to a bakery and several restaurants and shops. The nearest ski lift is also only 100m away, so everything you need will be within walking distance.
After a long day out shredding the snow, be sure to head to one of the many excellent restaurants. There, you can enjoy some of the finest local cuisine whilst sipping a glass of fine wine. Be sure not to miss out on trying traditional raclette whilst you're there.

Like Superdévoluy, La Joue du Loup is a relatively new village located in the ski resort of Massif du Dévoluy. The buildings in La Joue du Loup are lower and smaller than in Superdévoluy and predominantly chalets, which certainly adds a certain charm to the village as a whole. All accommodations are located within walking distance of the lifts, which means you can often ski right down to your doorstep. You can also choose to ski all the way to Superdévoluy (in the evening there is no connection to Superdévoluy itself).
La Joue du Loup is part of the Massif du Dévoluy ski area which has around 100km of ski slopes. It is mainly made up for blue and red slopes, perfect for intermediate to advanced skiers. There are plenty of options for cross country skiers too, with around 35km of trails.
There are activities for non skiers in La Joue du Loup too. Soak in some winter sun and enjoy a drink at one of the bars. There is also a spa in Superdévoluy and the options to rent a snow mobile. In France, wearing a helmet is not mandatory but recommended (especially for children). In ski classes (for all ages), it is often compulsory.

Food and Drinks:
Cheese, croissants, baguettes and wine! It is possible to drink tap water.
Opening hours:
As a general rule, the shops are open on Monday/Friday from 09:00 to 19:00. However, some shops may close over lunchtime. On Sunday and Monday, a selection of shops are closed. Some supermarkets are open on Sunday mornings.

Travelling by car:
Most motorways in France require you to pay a toll fee. The Pas Piccolo San Bernardo is closed the whole winter (November - June). Always check the locat weather reports before departing.
In some cities and towns it is obligaroty to have a "environmentsl sticker". It is not possible to buy these stickers en route. You will have to order them online before you leave home. French authorities advise you to print out the form and the confirmation of the sticker if it does not arrive at your home in time. You can find the form on:

Ski passes for children up to 4 years old are free. These discounts can be found in the calculation of your travel sum. Identification is required when collecting your ski pass.
