Skiing in Maurach

The friendly village of Maurach has a rural feel to it and is situated on the banks of the Achensee at the foot of densely forested hills. This is a great area to hike in. Maurach is located at an altitude of 950 meters and the Rofan cable car transports you to an altitude of almost 1900 meters to a tougher ski resort with various off piste options. In the village you will find a practice piste with a beginners lift, the meeting point for the ski school, the public swimming pool, the sauna and the fitness centre. With a steady snow record and more than 160 kilometers of tracks around the Achensee this is also a true paradise for cross country skiers. After a long day on the pistes the cosy bars, cafés and restaurants welcome you for the evening.
