Wondering where to go for great après-ski after a full day on the slopes? Here, we’ve listed five fantastic resorts you won’t want to miss.

Val Thorens, France

High energy, high altitude
Reaching an altitude of 3,200m, Val Thorens is famous for having the highest parties in the Alps. Both in the lively centre and on the pistes, you will find bars, pubs and restaurants teeming with guests having a drink and enjoying the music. Val Thorens après-ski is known for starting early and going on until the early hours. If you feel like visiting the highest pub in Europe, head to the Frog and Roast Beef.

Val D’Isére, France

Crème de la crème
With a huge selection of popular bars both on and off the pistes, Val d’Isère is considered by many guests to be one of the best après-ski resorts in the Alps. Thanks to the weather conditions, it has one of the longest snow-sure seasons, meaning the party continues right through until the later weeks of April.

Ischgl, Austria

Worth every penny
Although at the higher end of the budget, Ischgl’s après-ski is worth every penny. The most popular bar in Ischgl, and considered by some to be the best in the Alps, is the traditional Trofana Alm. The Tyrolean décor, oversized beers, and folk songs and dancing make it almost impossible not to enjoy a night in this unique bar.

Livigno, Italy

Duty-free ski
Livigno is home to around 150 bars, more than any other ski resort in the world, making it one of the most popular après-ski destinations. Another of Livigno’s main attractions is the shopping, as it is a duty-free zone with generous discounts on many items. The Italian bars and the après-ski scene tend to be a little more relaxed, but Livigno still offers a fantastic après-ski experience.

Alpe d’Huez, France

The budget-friendly option
Alpe d’Huez offers guests an excellent après-ski scene, with bars and parties running until the early hours, all on a reasonable budget. Two popular bars in the resort include The Underground Bar and Smithy’s Tavern.
