Chalet Vinson

Chalet Vinson is a new five-star chalet located in the idyllic ski resort of Les Gets. From your room you look out over the town. Chalet Vinson has all the comforts including a dishwasher, DVD player and even a jacuzzi! The wooden design gives it an authentic chalet feel, but with modern touches. Les Gets

Les Gets is a small, charming village located in the French Alps. It is located just 7km from the famous village Morzine. The streets of Les Gets are lined with traditional chalets and a variety of shops, restaurants and bars.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays there is usually a traditional market on the main shopping street.

Skiing in Les Gets

Les Gets itself has over 120km of slopes, and it’s a great ski holiday choice for beginner skier/snowboarders. With the extended lift pass you can also access the full Les Porte du Soleil ski area. This is one of the biggest ski areas in Europe, and has has over 650km of slopes. It also includes the well known villages of Morzine, Avoriaz and Châtel. It is even possible to ski all the way to Switzerland with the full pass.

Les Gets

The ski resort of Les Gets has over 120 kilometers of pistes with an average degree of difficulty. The slopes are varied and suitable for all levels, whether you are a beginner or an experienced skier. It is a perfect place for beginners as there is a beginner zone. In addition, there is a Wild West park for the little ones and freestylers have the Anthonioz boardercross piste. The the Anthonioz boardercross piste was dedicated to the Olympic silver medal winner in 2010 in Vancouver. The longest run of Les Gets is a comfortable 11 kilometers. Down in the villag, there are many blue runs which makes it an ideal place for families with children.

It is not likely that the service charger will be added to the bill automatically. If you are pleased with the service you can round off or leave a tip of 10%.


The voltage is 220 and the socket is different compared to the general UK sockets. You can buy an European adapter in most airports and supermarkets.


A UK mobile phone should work in France. The setup for this may differ per provider, so it is best to inquire about this before hand.

Safety on the slopes:

In France, wearing a helmet is not mandatory but recommended (especially for children). In ski classes (for all ages), it is often compulsory.

Travel documents:

You must be in possession of a valid passport in order to travel to France.

Food and Drinks:

Cheese, croissants, baguettes and wine! It is possible to drink tap water.

Opening hours:

As a general rule, the shops are open on Monday/Friday from 09:00 to 19:00. However, some shops may close over lunchtime. On Sunday and Monday, a selection of shops are closed. Some supermarkets are open on Sunday mornings.

Travelling by car:
Most motorways in France require you to pay a toll fee. The Pas Piccolo San Bernardo is closed the whole winter (November - June). Always check the locat weather reports before departing.

In some cities and towns it is obligaroty to have a "environmentsl sticker". It is not possible to buy these stickers en route. You will have to order them online before you leave home. French authorities advise you to print out the form and the confirmation of the sticker if it does not arrive at your home in time. You can find the form on:

Lift pass, lessons and material

Children up to and including 11 years old get a free helmet when one of their parents also hires equipment

In the booking steps it is indicated for which days the lift pass is valid. If you want to use the ski lift on a different day than indicated in the booking process, please contact our contact centre by telephone. It is not possible to change the days of the lift pass once you have arrived at the destination. If you wish to extend the lift pass, it can often be booked as an extra. The price for extending the lift pass can be found in the booking. If you choose “no lift pass”, the discount can also be found in the booking process.


For the Les Gets lift pass: The lift pass for children up to 4 years and seniors from 75 years old is free. Children from 5 to 19 years old and seniors aged 65 to 74 receive discounts on the lift pass.

For the Les Portes du Soleil ski pass: The lift pass for children up to 4 years is free. Children from 5 to 19 years old and seniors aged 65 and over receive discounts on the lift pass.

These discounts will be automatically calculated in the package price. When you are entitled to the free lift pass, choose "No ski pass" when booking. The free lift pass and discounted lift passes can be picked up locally on presentation of your ID.

Please note:

For people aged from 75 years the lift pass Les Portes du Soleil costs € 12.00 per day. If you are entitled to this lift pass, choose 'no ski pass' when booking. You will need to show your ID at the resort to pick this up


On site you pay €2.50 deposit for the lift pass.

The above fees and discounts are valid when booking through Sunweb. Other rates are used on site.

Ski and snow board lessons can be booked in step 2 of the booking process.

If you have booked a short-stay, then you cannot book lessons through us. You can organise this at the destination yourself.

When booking ski lessons, you will be asked to specify your level of experience:

Beginners: Only choose beginners lessons if you have never skied before.

Intermediate: If you are able to break and make turns, choose this level.

Advanced: If you are able to ski but you would like to improve your technique, please choose this level.

When selecting your lessons you will be asked for your level:

Beginners: Select beginners if you have never skied before.

Average: Can you already turn and break? Chose average lessons.

Advanced: Can you already ski well yet wish to improve your technique? Opt for advanced.

You can specify that you would like to include ski hire directly when booking.

When booking Gold or Diamond ski hire, you can exchange this once for snowboard or free ride ski hire (not applicable in the weekend)
