FAQ

What do I need to travel to Switzerland?

Warning! If you do not meet the entry requirements your visit will be denied!

(!) All adult UK visitors must present a certificate confirming their full vaccination or recovery to be eligible to enter Switzerland.

To understand the risks in a country, including the latest COVID restrictions (including for entry), always double check the FCDO Travel Advice for Switzerland.

When entering Switzerland, you must present a vaccination certificate which confirms full vaccination or recovery. If you cannot provide a proof of vaccination or recovery, your entry will be denied, so you will not be able to go on holiday. There are no alternatives at this point. Travellers arriving from the UK no longer have to quarantine on arrival in Switzerland.

Attention! Did you book a holiday to France including flights? Then you will fly to Geneva. Please note you will have to check below requirements for Switzerland and also check the requirements for France!

All adult travellers must have:
1. Vaccination or recovery certificate
2. Passenger Locator form
3. From 16 years and older: take a PCR- or antigentest between day 4 and 7 after arrival

1. Vaccination certificate or recovery certificate
Vaccination certificate
- You need a vaccination certificate confirming that you have received the full COVID-19 vaccination dosage
- Your vaccination is valid for 12 months directly after the date of your last vaccination
- For the Janssen vaccination the validity starts 22 days after the date of vaccination

Recovery from COVID-19
- Recovery certificate which shows that you have recovered from COVID-19
- You have recovered from COVID-19 no more than 6 months ago

Between day 4 and 7 after arrival: all travellers from 16 years and older must take a PCR- or antigentest
- Everyone from 16 years and older must take a PCR- or antigentest between day 4 and 7 after arrival.
- You have to send the result to the relevant cantonal office

2. Passenger Locator Form
All travellers must complete a Passenger Locator Form prior to entering Switzerland.
Filling in the form will generate a QR code, which should be presented to your travel provider and Border Police. If requested, a paper form can be completed if you do not have an electronic device.
Note: did you book a holiday including flights to France via Geneva? You will also have to fill in the Sworn Statement. Please find more information here.

NHS COVID Pass
Switzerland will accept the UK’s proof of COVID-19 recovery and vaccination record at the border. Your NHS appointment card from vaccination centres is not designed to be used as proof of vaccination and should not be used to demonstrate your vaccine status.
More details on how to demonstrate your COVID-19 status you can find here.

Entry rules for children
Unvaccinated children and adolescents arriving from the UK under the age of 18 are allowed to enter Switzerland when accompanied by fully vaccinated adults.
