Is wearing a helmet obligatory?

Austria:
In Austria, a ski helmet is mandatory for children up to the age of 15, with the exception of the ski areas in Tyrol and Vorarlberg.

France:
According to the law, wearing a helmet when skiing and snowboarding in France is not mandatory. Ski schools strongly recommend wearing a helmet. If your child attends a ski school, please check their rules on destination.

Italy:
All skiers and snowboarders up to the age of 18 are required to wear a ski helmet on the ski slope. This is not (yet) mandatory for adults.

Switzerland:
It is not mandatory for both children and adults to wear a helmet.

Andorra:
Wearing a helmet is not mandatory, but it is strongly recommended for children.

Norway:
Wearing a helmet is not mandatory, but it is recommended for children.

Sweden:
 Wearing a helmet is not mandatory, but it is strongly recommended for children.
