Hochfügen

Skiing in Hochfügen: Welcome to one of the highest ski areas of Austria

Hochfügen is located directly at the entrance of the Zillertal. Here, you are far up and removed from the hustle and bustle of the valley. The ski resort Hochfügen is connected to the Spieljochbahn Fügen with a shuttle bus. The main road leads directly to the entry points of the slopes and the lifts at 1,500 meters. Hochfügen is situated in the white halo of snow that surrounds the mountain top at 2500 meters above sea level and is one of the highest ski resorts in Austria. You can enjoy the whole day out on the sunny slopes. Hochfügen is a ski area that is fit for every level of experience. It has prepared slopes for novice skiers up to professional skiers, deep-snow slopes, routes for great ski tours, a toboggan run and cross-country trails. Hochfügen is also one of the free-ride hotspots in the Alps.

There are only a few other ski resorts that can live up to the standards which make Hochfügen so special. The high altitude of the resort with all the different kinds of slopes makes it a snow-sure destination up to early spring. There are specially designed beginners slopes and “magic”carpets” that will help with getting used to being on the slopes and using lifts. The longest “magic carpet” is approximately 140 metres long. There is also an 8 person gondola lift that connects Hochfügen to Marchkopf (approx. 2500m) and ultimately connects to the Hochzillertal Ski area. For snowboarders there is a fun park with a halfpipe. The cross-country track is ideally situated at 1500 metres of Hochfügen and offers pure and classic cross-country fun. The use of the trail is free.

Did you know that all the hotels, apartments and chalets all have direct access to the ski area? With the Zillertal Superski lift pass you can explore the rest of the Zillertal and the slopes of Kaltenbach, Fügen and Gerlos.

Add even more action to your holiday

Hochfügen is not only a great place to go skiing. Tobogganing enthusiasts can look forward to a 1.5 kilometre long track. You can get to the track by enjoying  a beautiful walk. The nature trail is illuminated and free of charge. Deep snowy forests and fantastic panoramic views make Hochfügen an ideal place for snowshoeing. A journey through the Zillertal mountain world illuminated by the stars and the moon is a very special experience for all nature lovers. In Fügen you can be pampered in the thermal baths. In the ski area there are also special winter sporting offers such as "Sunrise on the Mountain", "Heroes of the Night", "Private Piste" and "Early Bird Breakfast". More information can be found on the official website of Hochfügen Ski.
