Hotel Edelweiss Schlössl

Hotel Edelweiss Schlössl is in a quiet location with panoramic views of the Tyrolean Alps and the Paznaun. The rooms are nicely decorated and have a TV and a spotless bathroom; some rooms have a balcony. The Kappl ski rea is 1.5 km away but the ski bus stops outside the door. The center of Kappl is 2 kilometers and you can get there with the free bus too!

After an active day outdoors, come back to the hotel and relax. After a refreshing drink, you can head to one of the two restaurants. There is a small pizzeria as well as a traditional restaurant. you can in the beautiful winter garden with bar enjoying a well-earned drink. Edelweiss Schlössl features a cozy pizzeria and a traditional Austrian restaurant.

Kappl

The village of Kappl is located at an altitude of 1200 meters on the sunny side of the Paznauntal. The name Kappl is derived from the Latin name "Ad Cappellum", directed at the many chapels in the valley. Kappl is known as a peaceful village with a friendly atmosphere and consists of different neighbourhoods built up against the mountain slope. The cabin lift to the Dias ski resort is located in the valley along the road to Ischgl. Kappl also has its own ski resort with 40 kilometers of pistes. Hikers can follow the luge path up to the mountain restaurant of Dias at an altitude of 1830 meters.
A fun and alternative descent can be made in the evening on a sleigh down the 6 kilometer long flood-lit sleigh track. The famous ski resort of Ischgl is located a mere 10 kilometers down the road from Kappl. A ski bus service runs between the two villages (approx. € 1,- return). The après-ski in Kappl is relatively low key. The real après-ski fanatics can of course head to Ischgl. There, stamina permitting, you can party all through the night. For a fun day trip you can spend an afternoon shopping in Landeck or in the tax free zone of Samnaun.

Kappl

The village of Kappl is situated on the sunny side of the Paznauntal at an altitude of 1200 metres (4,000 ft). Kappl originates from the latin ‘ad Cappelum’, referring to the many chapels in the valley. It is a peaceful village with a cosy atmosphere and consists of different neighbourhoods built at the foot of the mountain.
The cable car to the Dias ski resort is located in the valley on the road to Ischgl. Kappl also has its own ski area with 40 km (25 ml) of pistes. Apart from skiing, there is plenty to do elsewhere. Hikers can reach the mountain restaurant Dias at an altitude of 1830 metres (6,000 ft) via the luge path. Why not try the 6 km (4 ml)illuminated luge track in the evening? There is also the Sunny Mountain Club Kappl for children with a varied program every week.
The famous winter sports destination of Ischgl is located approximately 10 km (6 ml) from Kappl. A ski bus connects these two resorts (approx. € 1,- return). The après-ski in Kappl is relatively small scale, but the real après-ski enthusiasts can easily head to Ischgl. Here you can expect plenty of late night partying in one of the many great bars!
Additionaly many people choose to head to the shops of Landeck, or take advantage of the tax free region of Samnaun for a bit of holiday shopping!

Opening times shops:

Shops are usually open from Monday until Friday from 09.00 AM to 18.00 PM (some shops close during the afternoon). Most shops are closed on Sunday.

Travelling by car:

Snow chains are obligatory in the Alps. You need a toll permit for the motorways in Austria. You can buy the permit at the AA in the UK or in Austria at the major border crossings. The European Commission advises you to wear a safety reflector jacket in the event of a break down or accident. This vest can be purchased from the AA in the UK as well.

Voltage:

The voltage is 230 volt.

Mobile telephone:

UK mobile phones work in Austria as well.

Travel documents:

You need to be in the possession of a valid passport to travel to Austria.

Lift pass, lessons and material

Discounts:

The lift pass for children born until 1/1/2011 is free. Children born between 1/1/2002 and 31/12/2010 receive discounts on the lift pass. These will be automatically calculated in your package price.

Deposit:

At the resort you pay around a €5 deposit for your lift pass. This will be refunded when you return the pass.

The above fees and discounts are only valid when booking through Sunweb. Other rates are used at the resort.

In the booking process it is indicated for which days the lift pass is valid. If you want to use the ski lift on a different day than indicated in the booking process, please contact our contact centre by telephone. It is not possible to change the days of the lift pass once you have arrived at the destination. If you wish to extend the lift pass, it can often be booked as an extra. The price for extending the lift pass can be found in the booking. If you choose “no lift pass”, the discount can also be found in the booking process.

You can specify that you would like to include ski or snow board hire directly when booking. This can be done in step 2 of the booking process.

The following materials can be booked:

Bronze

This material is ideal for beginners and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. This material is particularly agile, so it makes turning and breaking easy. Parallel skiing is also possible with these skis.

Silver

This is ideal material for intermediate skiers and snowboarders. The material is agile, but also suitable to cut corners sharp. Even at high speeds these skis provide great performance.

Gold

These skis and snowboards are made of high quality material, and are perfect for experienced skiers. This comfortable material is suitable on all track types and snow conditions.

Diamond

These are high performance skis and snowboards with the latest technology, and are suitable for the most experienced skiers.

 Tell our rental partner your exact requirements (eg off piste skiing) so they can help you select the right material.

NOTE:

 A helmet is only  included in this package for children up to 11 years old. If you are older,  you can choose to bring your own, or rent one locally if available.
